I've been playing minecraft with my normal skin for a few days and then I wanted to change my skin. But when I changed it, Minecraft refuses to load with errror message saying: Aborted launch; version is null?

I've downloaded the 1.6.2 version. But why is it saying that? Pleaze help.

Your regards,

mathema

I don't think the 'Skin Change' affected the Minecraft, try to close Minecraft and start it again, that's what I do and it works.

It worked, but reverts to my steve skin. I don't want that! What should I do?

Look, this is an old trick, name the skin you wanted "char" and go to you minecraft folder, once you are there go to bin folder and right click the minecraft and click open with winrar, and go to mob, move the skin you wanted and a thing will appear and click move and replace, there you have it.

If this didn't worked, it means in 1.6, this trick is disabled.

You broke it. Just delete 1.6.2.jar and it will download a new one.

char.png is moved, renamed to steve.png, and is still pointless to change.

On top of that, it's now much harder to edit the .jar. You have to copy the 1.6.2 folder and rename all in it.

modding the .jar is much more difficult than it used to be, and its very easy to fuck your game up. make sure you watch a few videos of it on youtube to make sure you know what you're doing
