We all know when we enter team extremes server we get sent directly to spawn. Mean while at spawn there is always about another 10 to 20 people within the corresponding chunks and we would all have to download them at the same time. Then when we finally do log in we get teleported back to where we originally logged off. I think if you take out the fact that we get auto sent to spawn on EVERY log in it should cut down on lag somewhat since we basically download two regions from different parts of the server with in 15 seconds. I may be wrong.

I would just like to note that chunks and players take very little effort to load, and on top of this, if it did it would effect your first minute of gameplay. Notice that when you use /spawn you dont freeze, you teleport and go on your way.

theres always someone at spawn anyway, so that chuck is loaded 99% of the time.
