Any contest held by players where there is a random outcome such as raffle drawings or contests that involve chance or luck, must be done in such a way that staff can verify that it was conducted fairly.
- NO NINJA EDITS:
As with auctions any edits to the initial post must be marked as edits with "Edit by" using strike through and any new text highlighted.
- WHEN STAFF IS REQUIRED:
Any raffle or contest that involves selecting a winner by any means that is not on the server whether it be using a random number generator, or drawing numbers from a hat, or any other off server method will need to be supervised or conducted by a staff member.
- HOST RESPONSIBILITY:
The player that wants to hold such a contest must find a staff member that is willing to supervise their game BEFORE selling any tickets or collecting any money. A post in questions and help would likely be the best way to get a staff sponsor.
- BLIND CHESTS:
Contests where the contents of different chests are sold blindly must be marked with signs and have the contents in place before accepting any money, and must not be tampered with until the contest is over.
This will enable us to confirm with logblock that it has not been tampered with.
- EQUAL COST TO ALL PARTICIPANTS:
All tickets, chances to win a game must be sold for the same price to every player. This means you cannot give tickets away or sell the tickets cheaper to friends. It must always remain equal for any player. Any free or discounted tickets alter the odds and make it unfair to the players who pay full price
- NO PARTICIPATION IN YOUR OWN CONTEST:
Players are not allowed to participate in their own contests directly or indirectly. For example your alt account cannot buy tickets, other players cannot buy tickets for the raffle holder, and winners of the prize may not return items or cash to the player who held the contest.
- ALL CONDITIONS MUST BE DECIDED IN WRITING:
All Conditions for winning, the drawing method, the staff sponsor(if needed) and any other details about they way the contest will be conducted, must be decided and posted on the main post. For example if you are drawing numbers what will happen if the number is not drawn? Will you redraw, choose the closest number, etc you must decide before the drawing and specify in as much detail as possible on the original post.
- TO RECAP:
If the contest can be proven without a doubt using logblock, or a live event that people can watch to be fair then staff input is not required.
If the contest contains any element of chance that cannot be checked or confirmed to be fair it must be staff supervised or conducted.
