General Thread Guideline:

  • Discuss as you please.
  • When responding to a submission post, quote the initial post, if not, quote who you are responding to. You're free to cut out the contents of the quoted, to save space.
  • You can post more than one post if you have more than one computer/rig
  • This is not a competition.
  • (Bonus) FPS benchmarks, min/max fps in various games etc.
  • Feel free to suggest other things that people can share! Have fun!

(Note: If you run a Mac or Linux system, I will update this thread to fill the needs of those people.)

Desktop Format:

  • Photos: Inside photo or photos (one initial imbedded photo, with any more as normal imgur links). Optional outside photo, with one being embedded if desired. Photo's are not mandatory. No stock photos please.

  • Description: Tell us a bit about it. How long you had your build, or computer, etc. If you have a specific use other than gaming for it, feel free to mention it. Also if you have any peripherals, feel free to list that as well. You can list the Case model, water cooling, fans, etc here too. Overclock stats too.

Laptop Format:

  • Photos: No inside photos are needed. Outside photos are optional, since some people may not take good care of their laptops.
  • CPU-Z Validation Link and Windows Experence:  Same as stated above.
  • Description: Just like the desktop, feel free to post things about your laptop. Upgrades, overclocks, replacements, etc.

Validation link: http://valid.x86.fr/giqrhj

Description: Well it's an ASUS brand name APU rig i've had since july, this replaced my old Phenom X4 9850 setup on an AM2+ board. As you can see it has the A8-6500 APU. The GPU in this thing is not that bad, even with 60 mods installed through forge, optifine being one of those 60, i get 60 FPS on a render distance of 8 with all particles at maximum. some of the optifine settings are set to lower settings, such as clouds being off, all graphics being fast, etc. I will be upgrading the CPU to an Athlon X4 760K paired with a GTX 750 ti around xmas time hopefully. unfortunately the HDD is dying so i have to go pick up another one from my cousin over the weekend. That's about it i guess lol. Oh, and it can play Dolphin gamecube emulator at full speed for most games on fullscreen, the exceptions being the legend of spyro series, super mario sunshine, spongebob battle for bikini bottom (my sister plays that) and ultimate spider man won't even load up so yeah XD

For reference, the chassis is Rosewill Redbone: http://www.newegg.co...7-160-_-Product

Parts were purchased off newegg. First computer I've built! Go easy on me, I know my wire management isn't exactly spectacular. :P

how much did that FX-6350 cost? i heard FX series CPUs were ungodly expensive. i know the 8 core one is $688 (which seems way too overpriced)

EDIT: Was looking at a combo, not just the CPU lol.

$139.99 according to the invoice, though it is probably a bit cheaper now if they still carry that one. :)

ah. well as i said i plan on upgrading to the FM2 Athlon X4 760K so i don't have to change my motherboard. upgrading your pc is hard when you're a teenager picking out of mom's wallet :P at some point i want to change over to intel, MAJOR difference in performance when you change. if you ever get the chance or when you feel your build is slowing down, save up for intel it will amaze you how much better it is. only reason i don't use intel right now is because, as i said, i'm broke XD

I'll definitely consider it.  This one was just pretty affordable for me at that time. I might even just build a new one again, I don't know. :P

well i found out my old PC still boots up (i thought it was fried by a faulty power supply)

Validation: Unfortunately my current monitor is HDMI and the built in GPU for the old motherboard only goes as high as DVI and i don't have a DVI or VGA monitor.

Description: Well it started out as a used PC i got to replace an old socket 478 eMachines PC from 2004. It was originally an HP Pavilion but the original motherboard died and the computer shop wouldn't replace it because it was the day after my warranty expired. So, i bought an ASRock A785GM-LE 3-in-1 motherboard, 4GB crucial ballistix DDR2 RAM and a 500W PSU and it was good as new. The CPU is a Phenom X4 9850 Black Edition. Integrated GPU is an ATI Rdeon HD 4200. It ran minecraft surprisingly well, but i had to use optifine to turn a lot of the settings down to their lowest or at least close to that. for youtube videos it did perfectly fine, 1080p ran pretty smoothly.

My current rig honestly has been a work in progress since about June 2013 and built it up since. Money was uber tight than, so I started with just the A10 5800k and just 1 500gb WB blue harddrive, and acquired more since. in about June 2014, I found an old 8800gt in a pile of old computers. Yes though it was an old card, it did preform a ton better than the Apu's graphics. Back in march of this year, I finally picked up an nvidia 960, notably evga ssc. I have plans to upgrade more, but for now, everything is looking good (though I fancy an SSD ;o; )

Most games are above 60fps with settings on max (Unless it's in MC on TE in pumpkinfarm central :U ).

Well I got a decent pc not two days ago, I'm on my phone so I'll have to post the cpu-z link later. For now here are some pictures.

Built by raidmax, you can see his touch with the led lights. It runs war thunder air forces at 100fps average and ground forces at 45-50fps. Not to mention raids favourite benchmark test on low settings (I believe) at 40-60fps with minimal screen tearing. So it's a very nice machine by my standards :P

Recently my pc just kept crashing.
A friend of mine looked at it, but it couldn't be repaired anymore.
So I asked him to build a pc for me, gave him a €600 (~ $650) budget and this is what he build for me:

Spoiler

It contains:
ASUS H97M-PLUS Motherboard
ASUS GTX750-PHOC-2GD5 Graphics card
Kingston HyperX FURY Black Series - 4GB - DIMM 240-pins - DDR3 - 1600 MHz / PC3-12800 - CL10
+ Two 2GB memory's from my old pc, making a total of 8 GB
Intel Haswell Core i5 4590 3.30GHz 6MB Box
Samsung EVO 850 500GB SSD

To be honest, I'm not really sure how good this is.
But if I have to believe my friend it should be a pretty decent pc for the price :P

*Please keep in mind that this is not meant to be a gamers Pc since I'm not really a big gamer.

As many of you may know, my old Dell Latitude D830 did it's best it could for as long as it could and it's service ended last week as it's GPU/video processing system went up in a blaze of glory. One week later, the replacement arrived; an HP 15.

Here's the specs;

In other words;

Spoiler

But I don't like Windows 8.1 so I'm reverting to Win7 soon....
